I did read the README file. I always read the README files.. just
sometimes not the in-depth documentation... that I leave for later when
the thing is ready to run.

Well, sorry, I am stiil a little new to all this. I don't have any idea
what a Berkley DB thingie is anyway (Yes I do realize it's some dtabase
stuff, but I mean I don't knwo the details)... soooooo a sentence like "in
case the make process is unable to find dbm_open blahblah do this and
that" would have helped me ;-)
