It would be interesting if somebody did some performance tests. Small
lsearch files will fit in a single disc block and one feels that a
linear search of up to say 50 or maybe even 100 entries should be quite
fast. But I don't actually *know*.
It has just occurred to me that tests might be quite easy to set up
using the "test_expand" program with suitable input files. Maybe one of
these days...
