Hello,
we just discovered the following exim bug in version 2.04 (here on Linux,
probably 2.03 also, _not_ 2.02 with identical configuration):
The daemon silently quits (yielding "connection closed" on the
initiating side) if it gets an SMTP connect from a system with incorrectly
configured DNS. In detail:
System's IP address resolves to hostname sone.name, but sone.name has
no A records at all, only NS (domain). Don't know if it also happens
if there simply is no A record with the original address (but would think
that this had been tested, concerning that this is a new feature in 2.03 -
if the bug is not OS dependent).
This should be fixed..
