That is true, and the very reason I mentioned it. (I got a message from
Swansea this morning regarding a news feed, and they were having problems with
our forward/reverse lookups for this reason). We tell the users to use the
long-form, but the DNS people don't seem to want to follow suit. I have
configured exim to use the long-form 'plymouth.ac.uk' address because that is
what we are supposed to be using. One day we'll have one domain name...
