and *seriously* cheaper than a load balancer....

[if you have serious problems with a lot of clients that cannot handle DNS
round robin (which tends to mean that your DNS server is actually
elderly/broken), then you can change the most hit host (normally the
lowest IP number) to an exim config which simply fires off messages to the
other handling boxes - which would be very low on resource usage] However
this is probably indicative of something else being broken - the DNS
server and clients being the first place to look.

There might be a case for a load balancer should you get to the size of
AOL or similar where your MXes don't fit in a reasonable DNS query.
