What you really want is
ray, |vacation ray
since items in forward files are separated by commas. Alternatively,
ray, "|vacation ray"
since _entire items_ can be quoted. Oh, and you don't want that #Exim
filter line. If you want to use the filter, you need
#Exim filter
deliver ray
pipe "vacation ray"
What you have currently got should be generating an error message, and
leaving the message on the spool.
