Thats what i'd gathered - i was just pointing it out as a trap for the
unwairy - it might be nice to add a some code to check that for permissions
there is a leading 0 (or automaticlly assume it's octal as chmod[1] does).
has anyone here _ever_ used decimal for permissions?
this is of course at the cost of makeing the code less generic.
