} It seems that although I have moved /usr/lib/sendmail to /usr/lib/

} Sendmail because my mail headers are those of Sendmail. I am really
} confused here, since I stopped Sendmail and then restarted.
/usr/lib is a silly place for sendmail and persists only because people
hard wire paths into other programs.
A compliant linux system would normally be using /usr/sbin/sendmail.
rpm -ql sendmail
will show all the files in the sendmail package, which should help.
Personally I find
rpm --erase sendmail
a good first step on a system.
A good rpm of exim will also provide the right names to allow it to
substitute for sendmail in dependancies.
