[EXIM] SIZE on MAIL FROM smtp interaction

how can we make Exim understand RFC1870?

we are currently getting errors with some customers failing to connect to
us... here's a snippet

MAIL FROM: <test@???> SIZE=5000
501 <test@???> SIZE=5000: extraneous characters at end of address
