I think 99.9% of the time when you see a netmask that is abnormal (in that
the ones and zeros in the mask are not in distinct blocks), it will be a
user error. In the 0.1% of times when that netmask is meant the person
specifying it will know enough to respecify it as a set of normal ip/mask
pairs.
Anyhow for the example given - 204.249.49.0/204.249.50.0 - the addresses
that would match should be
204.249.48.0 - 204.249.49.255
204.249.52.0 - 204.249.43.255
... similar groups in alternate blocks
then things with 64 & 128 bits set in 3rd octect
and things with unset bits set in 2nd octet
It just doesn't make any sense at all - its an error!!!!
