I found that I needed LIBRESOLV=-lresolv in Local/Makefile-Linux-alpha
(rather than Local/Makefile-Linux, where I needed it some time ago.
I suspect my ix86 environment changed so that it was no longer needed,
but I'm behind with my alpha world).
