I am running a small LAN at home with a Debian/Linux
PC and modem for PPP dialup internet access. It runs
a firewall for web surfing and EXIM 1.62 to do all the
email magic for the household needs.
When using Netscape we can specify the From email
address and all is well but when running mailx from
the Linux box this is not possible.
Is there a way to make EXIM check each outgoing
email and change the From field according to a system
specific file that describes these translations???
At my work such translations are done but they have
to rely on some expensive commercial programs that is
out of reach for a small household server.
