Okay forget this. Thanks Phil for your help. I restarted exim directly on
the terminal using "-d9" to see what was going on (phew! A lot of stuff) and
it all worked fine. I assume that changing the config file (removing the
sender_net_accept) didn't take immediate effect but needed a restart.
(I'm off for the next few days...to have a good lie down I think :-) )
