Tárgy: Reject log entries
Hello,

I'm trying to understand the reject log entries. We have entries such as :

1997-08-13 16:00:00 connection from [123.123.123.123] refused (accept)

The 123 bit is replaced by the actual IP address. What I can't understand is
that we don't reject mail from any sites (yet), and limit relaying to our own
domain. These messages however seem to get through to the recipient. So how
come, and what do the "refused" and "(accept)" bits refer to. I.e. what part
of the the configuration file?

We also have entries for the localhost (127.0.0.1) which ARE rejected i.e.
telnet localhost 25 gives an error.

This (exim) is still under test, so things are a bit convoluted. Even so I'm
confused as to what is being refused and then accepted?

(Philip I got your message re alias file lookups, but it too caused one of
the above reject log entries).

Any help appreciated,

John.
