Subject: Retries for messages to lists
I have some mailing lists hosted on our mail hub, and I frequently get
large numbers of messages building up in the queue because one or two hosts
on one of the lists can't be contacted for one reason or another. The retry
rule applying to most deliveries has a maximum of 4 days, so that's how
long these messages will hang around for. However, these are purely
'recreational' lists, and I'd like to drop their failing messages after
about 24 hours to stop the queue getting excessive. I can't see any way to
do this, as the retry rules are based entirely on the envelope addresses,
and aren't affected by e.g. the sender address or Precedence: headers,
which is about all there is to indicate that the message came from a list.
Is there any way to achieve this?
