By default, if a pipe produces any output, Exim mails it to someone as
an error message. If you do not want this behaviour, you have a choice
of various options to change it. Check out the return_output and
return_fail_output options on the pipe transport. The defaults in the
code are to ignore such output, but the default configuration sets
return_output.
