i've gotten past my initial configuration problems, and was going to ask
some virtual domain name questions, but once i straightened all the
other junk out, the virtual domain questions kind of went away... so
on to the exim->majordomo issues...
i have exim 1.62 and majordomo 1.94.3 running. everything seems to work
just fine, except for this one small detail which doesn't harm the
installation but which does dump an unnecessary error message in my
inbox for every message sent to the indy list, and for every digest
generated. the messages appear to be standard messages that majordomo
generates, which don't bother sendmail particularly but which cause exim
to want to complain to me, the list owner. there's probably a simple way
to modify exim's behavior but i don't know what that would be.

the digest was assembled and delivered perfectly well; there is no
actual error here -- but exim thinks there was.
