I would doubt that exim would hit the types of key that give problems.
Also db 1.86 is rather better than a factor of 4 slower! Its hideously
slow - its even slower than gdbm which used to be awful (but I think has
improved).

[BTW if you do change versions of db make sure that all the db files are
rebuilt and remember that if you use perl to manipulate them that will
need its modules rebuilt too]
