I had the same problem recently. What I had to do was change the
config to only rewrite those headers on OUTBOUND mail - ie from and
sender headers. From my config:

|
| dsrousso@??? dsroussos@??? fr
| ejlargen@??? ejlargent@??? fr
| awowens@??? fowens@??? fr
Without the 'fr' I had the same problem you experienced.
