I dont think that there is a problem per se with that in the new operating
systems. I know AIX 3.2.5 doesnt handle source routes correctly, so the
whole problem wouldnt apply there. In AIX 4.1.4 getsockoptions returns an
in_addr structure before the actual options and would probably render the
parser useless. There might be some problems with that code, though I
think it is better to have some kind of handling instead of being ignorant
to it.

If you want to clean the options, you are on the safe site with Wietses
code. Though I dont think it should be policy to clean the options
regardless of the content.

I send the parser used by sendmail to this list and pointed out the error.
If you could give that code a proper rewrite and fix the problem with the
option length ( read rfc791 to see exactly what is mean ) that would be a
proper handling of the problem IMHO.
