Dunno about US users, but I know what this is. If you do a search on
"exim" on one of the www search engines (can't remember which) it throws
up

The Export-Import Bank of Japan

in several hits, and the abbreviations EXIM and JEXIM are used for it,
always in caps, fortunately.
