We're currently submitting a large number of email messages to users
on our WAN. The messages are supplied to me as Batched SMTP (50
messages per file) and I submit them with a 60-120s pause between
batches (the machines to which they are actually being delivered are
under quite a heavy load and with the relatively high bandwidth we
have on our backbone the messages can be quite a handful if the
batches are too large or too frequent)
In particular, one server has a very high load and I have
consequently reduced it's number of incoming SMTP connections to
around 30 (with 20 reserved for local nets).
In a few of the batches I have obviously hit the server at a busy
time and the messages have not been delivered immediately:

However, upon trying to discover why 0vNcv6-0001V8-03 has not been
delivered:

So it comes in, but never leaves :-(
The retry times for all local domains are:
*.iafrica.com * F,5m,30s; F,4h,5m; G,16h,30m,1.5; F,10d,8h
so it should be retrying very regularly. If I manually "exim -d1 -M"
the message it works fine:
