I apologise for this having got onto the exim-users list (my original
query to Martyn was not so cross-posted), but as the matter has come up...

I have done some experiments with our Elm, and get

  Headers                                     Elm shows


  From: Nice Name <nn666@???>           Nice Name
  From:    Not so nice <nn666@???>      Not so nice
  From: <nn666@???>                     nn666@???
  From:    <nn666@???>                  <uses the 'From ' line instead>


So it is Martyn's somewhat eccentric spacing in the From: header that
caused the unusual effect. I'll talk to our Elm expert about it...

Again, apologies for the off-topic nature of this thread. Followups
