I knew this was what Exim did on error reports, but this is the first
report I've had that any MUA didn't like it. Pine, for example, is quite
happy.

The format of the "From" line is nowhere (as far as I know) defined;
I've had to guess. What follows the word "from" is the envelope sender
of the message. For error reports, this address is empty, hence what you
see.

Can you tell me whether a line of the form

>From <> Fri Aug 30 15:27:50 1996


is acceptable to Elm? I'll try it with Pine and see if it is happy. If
so, perhaps I should change Exim to do that.
