In Cambridge I can also add:
mole.bio.cam.ac.uk [c. 1500 users] ~3000 messages per day. SGI IP22
box. Many messages are quite large thanks to the use of the machine for
DNA and protein sequence analysis.
We used to use a sendmail configuration that passed outgoing mail via the
ppsw machines mentioned by Chris, and moving to exim has drastically
reduced the time taken for most messages to reach their recipients.
