I think this was back in late March or early April with version .71 or
72.

I installed it, switched from XTPP to it, the queue just grew and grew,
so I switched back to XTPP. The test only lasted a few hours.

The mail load on SunSITE is created by ftpmail replies. Which are lots
of large (~100K) parts heading back to a relatively small number of
users. This is what chokes sendmails. Exim and XTPP handle lots of
mail to the same site very well.

Please don't take my previous message to be bashing qmail. It is mostly
likely to have been something in my setup that caused the problems - I
rarely have enough time of late to spend digging into these things. I'm
very familary with the MMDF, PP and smail mailers so it is easier for me
to sort out any problems that might occur in them.

I never reported it as a problem since it was probably something I did.
Shortly thereafter I tried out exim which worked first time, but it does
have a structure very similar to smail so it was easy for me to work
with.
