We (Professor Gosman's group at Imperial) are using exim on our local mail
server. It doesn't cause any more problems than the legacy sendmail setup it
replaced but I haven't had time to get it working perfectly.
AFAIK some other people who are using exim are:
sunsite.doc.ic.ac.uk (production system for handling sunsite's ftpmail)
The UK online democracy project (a mail and web based conferencing forum. This
was under development last time I knew - will be production before the start of
the political party conference season I believe)
