While trying to get exim toalways send mail with just my domain name
from inews, I ran across another problem. I'd been trying to send test
mail using sendmail -t to duplicate inews's behavior. I figured out the
problem with inews (fromhost in inn.conf -duh) but the bounces I got
from exim are delivered in a rather odd state. I reproduce the header as
it appears in my mailbox below. Notice the lack of name after the first
From. Shouldn't exim be putting From Daemon or something there? What
caused me to notice this was I'm also using the beta of mutt, a new mail
program and mutt failed to display the bounces when they were missing
this From entry.
This could be caused by the code for the -t option. As you can see
from the error, I was trying to use sendmail -t with the addressee on
the command line, which I now know means remove that address from the
recipient list, according to the spec, but that shouldn't cause the From
to be deleted for mail from the mailer daemon, should it?
