Subject: [exim] Best way to split multiline string
I need to inspect the output from en external program (run via the
${run} expansion). The program outputs multiple lines, only the first
is relevant to me. What is the least painful way to extract it? I mean
the least number of backslashes and curlies.

In the past when I thought I needed this, it turned out the program
had a daemon mode replying on a socket, so I could use the readsocket
expansion which has a built-in separator option. Unfortunately, there
is no daemon mode now, and the run expansion has no such option
(hint hint feature request :)
