Yes, I am planning on doing that. The current state seems to cause more trouble
than be useful. As for the timescale: we like to leave at least 6 months
between releases so as not to overburden downstream maintainers. The current
release came out early last December. There haven't been any major updates, but
some bugs have been fixed so a new release in June seems reasonable. I will get
a release candidate out in early May, leaving several weeks for testing (which
is what we normally do).
