Have you got ./autogen.sh? That is the autoconf sequence that generates
./configure from ./configure.ac. HOWEVER, I have just been notified of a
problem: my version of autoconf got updated to 2.70 and I had to make some
updates to configure.ac and now it seems that it won't work with older versions
of autoconf.
So you may have a problem... I could send you a ./configure file which might
solve that issue.
