Thanks for the reply, I am aware of PCRE2 but this is a report about PCRE1.
You are probably aware but most tools are using PCRE1 still, and most users do
not have the choice with the engine they are using.
Software developpers in general did the update of PCRE1 version, but they can't
just move on to PCRE2, there would need to work a bit on the required change
etc. This is why new releases of PCRE1 could still be very important.
Your answer feels like people should stop reporting PCRE1 issues forever, if
such issues is not going to be fixed, which kind of issues would generate a new
release of PCRE1, is there a point in reporting PCRE1 issues here still?
