If someone is volunteering :D then ripping out all of the system
resolver usage and replacing it with a libgetdns dependency would solve
a large number of problems for us.
It would add a packaging dependency. But that's what package managers
are for.
I estimate the workload as "three bottles of whiskey and a new liver".
