The major portion of Exim is a monolithic program, but
it forks processes for message-handling. So while not
being either a set of programs (Postfix-architecture)
nor being a threaded process (in the sense of there
being a process with multiple threads-of-control)
there is work being done in parallel.

There are a few ancillary programs for maintenance
actions and ease-of-use too, but they are not
really part of the MTA.
