SPF checks should be performed on the domain of the RFC5321.MailFrom
address, not the RFC5322.From header.
(If you're also doing DMARC checks and the domain of the address in the
RFC5322.From header published a DMARC record you then need to check whether
the domains of the RFC5321.MailFrom and RFC5322.From "align", as per the
aspf tag of the DMARC policy.)
