glib documents that unless you pass G_REGEX_RAW as a compile flag, you need to
pass valid UTF-8. So this isn't a bug in glib either.

It *is* however a bug in gvfs, which I've forwarded to
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gvfs/issues/344 (not public).
