At authentication time, the sender address has not yet been sent to
the SMTP server.
One of the points of authentication is to be able to reject
unauthenticated connections before they get to say anything about
sender, recipient, or message content.
However, if you are willing to delay rejection until you've had a look
at the message data, you can get at the sender address and other
metadata at your leisure.
