I have tested and committed your patches. Thanks again for doing this work. I
also applied your patch to ucptest.c and when I compiled it, it works fine for
me on my 32-bit Gentoo box. If you have time, please could you try the version
that is now in the trunk to see if it works for you. If it does, then your
previous crash is a mystery. I am going to close this issue.
