Thanks for the reply. The issue is that I've got MANY email addresses that all eventually route to the same address.

The large majority of them funnel through a special email address and that one forwards to my main address.

I need some way for my email client to "know" that it went through that special address. I want to set my email client to NOT sound an alert when a message arrives having routed through it.

I had hoped to set the client to watch for a custom header to be in the message headers.

I'm a user on a shared hosting system. We have Exim installed and I've been told where I can place my filters.

Must it be a filter? The word has a particular meaning in Exim,
and there are other simpler ways.

You've not said when (for every mail? only some senders?
only some recipients? only claiming to come from google and
postedbetween 1415 and 1417 Kazakstan time?)
or what you want added for this header.
