The Internet is large and not transitive.

[A can reach B] plus [B can reach C] does not mean [A can reach C]. Part of
the point of backup MX is to support poor connectivity, not just transient
glitches.

While it's true that people can shoot themselves in the foot with Exim, that
does not mean we should add features which can only be aimed at ones own foot,
with the feeble excuse "we don't think you should do this, but some people
disagree".

If you want this feature, please re-open the bug with patches, for the code (to
implement the feature) and the documentation, containing such caveats as you
feel appropriate.
