Hmm, I don't have an AIX box to test with, but it sounds like a name
mangling issue. What happens if, in pcrecpp.cc, you cahnge
#include <ctype.h>
to
#include <cctype>
and
#include <assert.h>
to
#include <cassert>
?
If that works, I'll make up a patch for the next pcre release.
