Yes, you just return the 550 error code in response to the RCPT command.
At that point, its up to the sending server/client software to handle the
550. I've seen a bunch of freeware PC clients that just give up on the
first 550, even if there are other valid RCPT's. Any reasonable piece of
software, would report the error back to the sending user.

Ok, I think I was mistaken in where the denial message was actually
generated.

If I understand you guys correctly, my server give the 550 to the
delivering server and if it's a spammer hes just going to ignore it
and move on. If its a legitimate email server THAT server is the one
generating the email back to ITS sender notifying them of the error.

Is that right?
