None of the shells I've tested interpret the indented "End" as the end of the
here document, but the subsequent backtick (`) terminates the command
substitution nevertheless, so what we get in the numeral variables ($1, $2, and
so on) is a list of possible configuration files followed by "End". That's of
course not right either.
