the MDA 127 error annoyed me again. Now i have invested some time and found the solution.
I have changed
mda "/usr/sbin/exim4 -oi -f '<%F>' 'recipient@???'"
to
mda "/usr/sbin/exim4 -oi -f %F 'recipient@???'"
You're right it is not an exim problem.
