Hi all,
I thought I'd pass this on just in case any of you notice any unusual
activity on your servers.
I run google adwords on my site. Every couple of days I look at the
stats which show me how many times a link to my site was shown, how many
people clicked on it etc..etc..
From my account page I also get to see what the most popular searches
were (that were related to the keywords I use on my site). In the last 7
days the most searched for terms were:
1. exim smtpd 4.64 exploits
2. local_scan_has_options
3. acl_smtp_rcpt spamhaus
In the 6 months I've been looking at these reports I've never seen
"exploits" or any of the similar terms appear in any of the results
before, and this was specifically the term "exim smtpd 4.64 exploits"
that people were searching for.
This may turn out to be nothing to worry about, however it could just as
easily also be the start of something very sinister.
I'm passing this info on to the list so that you can make your own minds
up about it and hopefully be more alert to any unusual activity.
