Thanks, but I don't think I can do this, since I don't have write access
to exim.conf. I guess that this means that wildcarding is impossible
(for me).

Agreed, in general. However, I have a large block of free addresses in
this domain. My philosophy (then) was to sign up for mailing lists,
logins, and so on, using a new unimportant addresses. I made up new
addresses as needed, and didn't have to add them to the virtusertable,
since all addresses were accepted. I just selectively disabled addresses
in the virtusertable as they became unusable. I currently have about 50
active addresses which are in use.

Unfortunately, this spammer has (unwittingly) outsmarted me by
extracting message IDs from mailing lists, so I effectively now get
random mails to my address block, which are all accepted. I guess I need
to think about this again.

Probably OT for this list, but I'd be interested to hear how others deal
with creating and deleting large numbers of temporary and unimportant
mail addresses.
