Yes, my spool is owned by "mail:mail" ,but my exim4 works under this
user.
For example ps faux:
mail 5024 0.0 0.1 39736 3560 ? S May14 0:10
/usr/sbin/exim4 -bd -q20m -dropcr
mail 32712 0.0 0.1 39736 3604 ? S May14 0:08
/usr/sbin/exim4 -bd -q20m -dropcr
mail 26329 0.0 0.1 39604 3468 ? S May14 0:09
/usr/sbin/exim4 -bd -q20m -dropcr
mail 23116 0.0 0.1 39896 3744 ? S May14 0:09
/usr/sbin/exim4 -bd -q20m -dropcr
And delivery of mail works ,this messages in logs are occasional and
when they take place there are no delivery. This bug delays about 10% of mail
stream.
I saw in /etc/passwd that Debian-exim home was /var/spool/exim4
while the $HOME of user "mail"== /var/mail. Can this be the source of
the problem? I don't know whether exim daemon uses this variable or no.
It is very strange that the bug with permissions has such an occasional
character? Correct me please if I'm wrong. Thank you.
