We use exim in conjunction with MailScanner.
The "listener" exim
/sw/bin/exim -bd -odq -DMSG_LOGS=false -DSPOOL=/sw/pkg/exim/var/spool-in -oP /sw/pkg/exim/var/run/exim-in.pid
accepts incoming SMTP mails and puts it (and leave it for MailScanner) in spool-in/input. MailScanner (4.51.6) works on this queue and delivers back to a "non listening" exim with spool files in spool/input:
/sw/bin/exim -q30m -oP /sw/pkg/exim/var/run/exim.pid
exim.cf has lines:
MSG_LOGS = true
message_logs = MSG_LOGS
With exim 4.60 (and any predecessor) everything is working smothly. With exim 4.61 not a single email could be delivered because auf "Format error in spool file". Here are some extracts of the *-H files with corrupt entries laying aroung in spool-in/input and spool/input.
Can someone help me? Do you need more details? Exim without this split-spool (without MailScanner) has no problems. MailScanner could not handle the broken spool files, too.
