Subject: [exim] smtp_accept_max_per_host going out of sync
Hi,

just wanted to tell you that smtp_accept_max_per_host seems to go out of
sync sometimes... I've set it to 4 but a client complained that his
connections weren't accepted anymore. I checked the logfile and saw that he
was rejected because of this setting. However, using netstat I couldn't find
active connections to his server. The problem went away after a SIGHUP. I've
had the smtp_connection log_seletor enabled and so I checked the logfile.

2005-02-01 15:46:52 SMTP connection from ... [...] closed by QUIT
2005-02-01 15:51:21 SMTP connection from [...] (TCP/IP connection count = 32)
2005-02-01 16:01:00 Connection from [...] refused: too many connections from that IP address

Obviously exim didn't notice when the SMTP connection got closed...

I haven't invested further however. If this is already known, fine, if not,
feel free to ask for more debug information if you need some.
