Subject: [exim] Interim release Exim 4.44

The Exim 4.44 release is now available on the primary ftp site, and
will be available on the mirrors shortly. This release has been put
together by Nigel Metheringham, to allow the maintenance and bug
fixes that are in the forthcoming 4.50 release to be made available
in a proper release (not just patches) at this earlier time.
Thanks, Nigel!

This release is a purely maintenance and bug fix release, although the
exipick and eximstats utilities have been updated to their current

This release includes fixes for 2 CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and
Exposures - see http://cve.mitre.org) issues:-

These were notified to us by iDEFENSE (their issue numbers are
iDEF0725 and iDEF0731). We would like to thank iDEFENSE for their
responsible disclosure of these problems to us. These issues were
previously fixed by a patch update to exim on 04/01/2005.

As usual, all changes are in the doc/ChangeLog file and new features
are described in the doc/NewStuff file. See also the README.UPDATING
file for changes that might impact on some installations. The manual
has not been updated for this release.
